The Arizona State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has reviewed your prescribed burn submission for the above-referenced undertaking pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and its implementing regulations at 36 CFR Part 800.
Project description. SYNTHETIC demonstration record. Prescribed burn submitted by City of Flagstaff.
Area of Potential Effects (APE). The APE includes a polygon of approximately 105.32 km² centered at 31.5800°, -110.3067° in La Paz County, Arizona.
Federal nexus. The APE intersects the following surface management jurisdictions: Private Land (Private); State Trust Land (State); Fort-Huachuca (Military).
Flood hazard. The APE intersects FEMA flood zone(s) D, A, X (Special Flood Hazard Area).
Identified historic properties. The following NRHP-listed or eligible properties lie within or adjacent to the APE:
- Fry Pioneer Cemetery (NRIS 08001312) — 3.02 km from APE centroid.
- Mountain View Officers' Club (NRIS 100000549) — 4.74 km from APE centroid.
ADOT historic / scenic route(s). Benson to Dogulas to Rodeo Highway; Nogales to Tombstone Highway; Sierra Vista to Bisbee Highway; Whetstone Traffic Interchange to Junction SR 80 Highway.
Determination. Based on the foregoing, SHPO concurs with a finding of NO ADVERSE EFFECT pursuant to 36 CFR 800.5.
This determination is non-final until concurrence is received from all consulting parties. Should the scope of the undertaking change, please resubmit for re-review per 36 CFR 800.13.
