The Arizona State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has reviewed your post-wildfire baer submission for the above-referenced undertaking pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and its implementing regulations at 36 CFR Part 800.

Project description. SYNTHETIC demonstration record. Post-wildfire BAER submitted by AZ State Land Dept.

Area of Potential Effects (APE). The APE includes a polygon of approximately 100.99 km² centered at 35.2294°, -114.1617° in Mohave County, Arizona.

Federal nexus. The APE intersects the following surface management jurisdictions: Private Land (Private); Bureau of Land Mgmt. (BLM).

Flood hazard. The APE intersects FEMA flood zone(s) X, AE (Special Flood Hazard Area).

Identified historic properties. The submission identified 2 historic properties within or adjacent to the APE:

  • AT & SF Locomotive (NRIS 86001113) — recommended effect: Pending consultation.
  • Kingman Army Air Forces Flexible Gunnery School Radio Tower (NRIS 99000107) — recommended effect: No adverse effect.

Section 4(f) considerations. 5 pre-1945 bridge(s) lie within 5 km of the APE; ADOT and FHWA Section 4(f) eligibility should be confirmed prior to construction.

Stipulations to protect contributing resources during construction shall be incorporated into the project design and monitored by a qualified historic preservation specialist.

This determination is non-final until concurrence is received from all consulting parties. Should the scope of the undertaking change, please resubmit for re-review per 36 CFR 800.13.
