The Arizona State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has reviewed your solar generation facility submission for the above-referenced undertaking pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and its implementing regulations at 36 CFR Part 800.
Project description. SYNTHETIC demonstration record. Solar generation facility submitted by FHWA via ADOT.
Area of Potential Effects (APE). The APE includes a polygon of approximately 103.36 km² centered at 33.2785°, -110.8264° in Pima County, Arizona.
Federal nexus. The APE intersects the following surface management jurisdictions: Private Land (Private); State Trust Land (State); Tonto N.F (USFS).
Flood hazard. The APE intersects FEMA flood zone(s) D.
Identified historic properties. The submission identified 5 historic properties within or adjacent to the APE:
- Reppy Avenue Bridge (NRIS 88001689) — recommended effect: No adverse effect.
- Miami Avenue Bridge (NRIS 88001693) — recommended effect: No adverse effect with conditions.
- Keystone Avenue Bridge (NRIS 88001692) — recommended effect: No adverse effect.
- Inspiration Avenue Bridge (NRIS 88001691) — recommended effect: Adverse effect.
- Cordova Avenue Bridge (NRIS 88001690) — recommended effect: No adverse effect.
ADOT historic / scenic route(s). Globe to Lordsburg Highway; Quartzsite to Wickenburg to Phoenix to Globe to Show Low to Springerville; Tucson to Oracle Junction to Globe Highway and Show Low to Holbrook; Winkelman to Superior; Copper Corridor Scenic Road East.
Determination. Based on the foregoing, SHPO concurs with a finding of ADVERSE EFFECT, with stipulations pursuant to 36 CFR 800.5. Stipulations to protect contributing resources during construction shall be incorporated into the project design and monitored by a qualified historic preservation specialist.
This determination is non-final until concurrence is received from all consulting parties. Should the scope of the undertaking change, please resubmit for re-review per 36 CFR 800.13.
