The Arizona State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has reviewed your solar generation facility submission for the above-referenced undertaking pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and its implementing regulations at 36 CFR Part 800.

Area of Potential Effects (APE). The APE includes a polygon of approximately 103.50 km² centered at 33.1568°, -110.5098° in Pinal County, Arizona.

Federal nexus. The APE intersects the following surface management jurisdictions: Bureau of Land Mgmt. (BLM); San Carlos Indian Res. (Indian Lands).

Tribal consultation. The APE intersects sovereign tribal land(s): San Carlos Apache Tribe. Concurrent consultation with the appropriate Tribal Historic Preservation Officer(s) is required under 36 CFR 800.2(c)(2)(ii).

Flood hazard. The APE intersects FEMA flood zone(s) D.

Identified historic properties. The following NRHP-listed or eligible properties lie within or adjacent to the APE:

  • Coolidge Dam (NRIS 81000135)2.48 km from APE centroid.

Section 4(f) considerations. 6 pre-1945 bridge(s) lie within 5 km of the APE; ADOT and FHWA Section 4(f) eligibility should be confirmed prior to construction.
